Top career advice: fight to be irreplaceable—but first decide who you actually want to be…
I do a lot of 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 calls, and the advice I give is usually pretty consistent. This is always at the 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁:

“With no college degree and no formal training, what propelled your career?” a young person asked me.

“With no college degree and no formal training, what propelled your career?” a young person asked me.
My answer was simple:
1️⃣ Gratitude: I never felt like any opportunity was owed to me. I cherished each one and worked hard to honor the trust of those who gave me a chance.
2️⃣ Humility: No job was (or is) beneath me. Humility and hustle will always set you apart.
3️⃣ Hard Work: I worked hard, then harder, and never stopped striving to improve.
4️⃣ Problem Solving: I learned to anticipate my boss’s needs and get two steps ahead. Predicting questions and offering solutions makes you indispensable.
Here’s the key: Everyone is replaceable, but the perception of irreplaceability is real. Get up every day fighting to be irreplaceable to those around you—and watch what happens. 💪
