Top career advice: fight to be irreplaceable—but first decide who you actually want to be…
I do a lot of 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 calls, and the advice I give is usually pretty consistent. This is always at the 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁:

“More than teammates, you’re family.”
That’s the kind of feedback we dreamed of when we started CUENTO Marketing (opens the CUENTO site in a new tab).
Yes—everyone is replaceable.
I learned that lesson early.
A family member used to say, “This place can’t survive without me.”
Until one day… it did.
That stuck with me.
But here’s what I’ve learned since:
The perception of irreplaceability is very real.
So how do you get there?
✅ Care deeply about the people
✅ Show up when it matters
✅ Be invested in their business
✅ Be the steady voice during chaos
✅ Make it hard to imagine life without you
Want to win?
Be the person that makes others say, “I can’t imagine doing this without you.”
Great partners give a 💩!

We are all replaceable, but striving to be irreplaceable to your teammates is something that will separate you from the pack.
