"This is Wayne from ___": the logo changes, your name doesn't—reputation, relationships and…
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned: The most important part of this sentence isn’t what comes after it. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴.

“I’ve quit a lot of people’s dream jobs.” -Me.
Let me explain:
I’ve been an on-air radio personality.
I’ve worked in the NFL.
I’ve been a professional DJ.
I was the CMO of a Major League Baseball team.
All incredible jobs.
And I walked away from every single one.
Why?
Because deep down, I knew I wouldn’t still love it tomorrow.
In each case, the reason was different—but the pattern was the same:
• I looked ahead at where the organization (and my role) was heading.
• I was honest with myself about whether that aligned with my future.
• I worked hard in the present, even while planning the next step.
• I identified the right next move—short-term and long-term.
• And then I took a deep breath… and leapt.
Your dream job isn’t always forever.
And leaving doesn’t mean you’ve failed—it might actually mean, you’ve already done it.
Ken Griffey Jr. is now a photographer at The Masters.
Why? Because he’s doing what makes him happy.
That gift is available to you, too—if you’re willing to open it.
