🧢 One of the smartest marketing lessons in sports is sitting on my head.
This Detroit Tigers x DadGang Co. hat isn’t just merchandise. It’s audience strategy.
Over the last decade, sports teams have mastered collaborations. What started as an occasional partnership has become one of the best ways to grow a brand.
Why? Because the fastest way to earn a new audience is to partner with someone who already has it.
The Tigers gain exposure to the Dad Gang community.
Dad Gang gains credibility alongside one of baseball’s iconic brands.
Everybody wins.
The lesson applies to every industry:
🍽️ Restaurant × Local clothing brand
🍺 Brewery × Celebrity chef
🏨 Hotel × Local coffee roaster
🏡 Real estate company × Home organization brand
đź’Ş Gym Ă— Physical therapist
🤝 Stop looking for more customers. Start looking for the right collaborator.
Sports has been teaching this lesson for years. The rest of the business world is finally catching up.
👏 Great work to the Detroit Tigers and Dad Gang on a collaboration that feels authentic, not forced.
And a special thanks to Asia Gholston for hooking me up with one of my new favorite hats. I love what this collaboration represents.
Who would your company collaborate with if there were no limits?
