Observation

Most organizational problems trace to poor communication; polite silence is harder to fix…

The more problems we get hired to solve the more we realize that open communication can really solve most issues.

The more problems we get hired to solve the more we realize that open communication can really solve most issues.

Once we enter a business we try to get to the core of the issue and usually spend most of that time unraveling the tangled web of poor communication. At the worst this is caused by ego or ill intent. Those situations are the easiest to solve, because you have to eliminate cancers.

On the other end of that spectrum is poor communications because of people trying to stay in their own lane or being polite to a colleague. This is a tough one, because nobody wants to be the bad guy, but someone has to step up and expose the flaws. The only way to strive for excellence is to openly discuss your deficiencies. Once that is done and all of the true challenges are on the table the real work begins.

One last note on this is that the same issue exists in personal communications… be open and honest or others will start to grow suspicious of your intent. 🤷‍♂️
