“If just one of you takes this advice and apply it to your career, then I had a great day today!”

That’s how I ended every presentation to the minor league players I would train each season on how to tell their story. I told them it would make me so happy later in life to see them successful and creating a great brand.

Last week I bumped into Logan Allen, a current pitcher for the Cleveland Guardians and after catching up for a bit he shared the impact of the presentation that I gave him when he was about 19 years old. I vividly remember him waiting for Nicky Patriarca and me after the presentation and asking a lot of questions. He stayed in touch with us throughout the years, always learning more about trends and keeping us up to date on his story. Logan made his debut at Petco Park in June of 2019 with an epic payoff of a bet between him and John Cena. (https://lnkd.in/gz-qZUNZ) We helped him tell that story and it went viral. Shortly after his debut, Logan was traded to Cleveland but we have stayed in touch throughout the years. He has done a great job of understanding who he is and telling his story in a fun and honest way. I was beyond humbled to find out that our presentation played a little part of his growth.

Years ago, Gary Vaynerchuk motivated me to share my story by saying, “what if you could help one other person?!? It would be selfish to not share.” Well I have been sharing and I can’t tell you the feeling that you get when you hear that it helped someone. Best of luck to Logan this season and beyond. Keep being you and keep sharing that with the world!
