A radio-thon he helped launch has raised millions for the Jimmy Fund; storytelling unites…

I looked up yesterday and saw this post from my former radio station in Boston… WOW! Over $5.3 million raised to fight cancer.

I looked up yesterday and saw this post from my former radio station in Boston… WOW! Over $5.3 million raised to fight cancer.

23 years ago, I was called into a meeting with Jason Wolfe, who shared the vision for a radio-thon for the Jimmy Fund. I had no idea what it meant, but we were all excited for the challenge. That first year raised $325,000—unheard of at the time.

From there, the event grew: videos on the website, a partnership with NESN, and an ongoing legacy of storytelling and community impact. The stories we shared, the children we met, and the hours our team worked together created something bigger than any of us.

Radio may feel “old school" to some, but events like this remind us of its power to unite communities and drive meaningful impact. I'm still a huge radio fan!

Huge congrats to WEEI Sports Radio Network & NESN, and especially to the team members still carrying this legacy forward!
