I spent my entire career in marketing.

And suddenly I found myself in sales.

Wow.

The unanswered emails.

The ghosting.

The follow-ups.

The rejection.

The constant reminder that what feels important to you may not be important to someone else.

I know people are busy.

And if I’m being honest, I was probably guilty of not responding to people fast enough throughout my career too.

But being on the other side changes your perspective.

Sales requires a level of resilience I don’t think I fully appreciated until I had to do it myself.

You hear “no.”

You hear nothing.

And then you wake up the next day and do it again.

So to everyone who has built a career in sales…

You have my respect.

It’s a harder job than most people realize.
